Do you add the package of
    The graham cracker crust?

    • Chef Dave June 12, 2016 at 5:02 pm - Reply

No graham cracker crust in this recipe. This salad is like a fruit salad.

I made this for a picnic and was asked to do it again this year but to double the recipe. It was great and a big hit

I have made this many times and it’s a hit. Ihave tweaked it a bit over time and use strawberry flavored Greek yogurt instead of vanilla, omit the sliced strawberries(less expensive and tastes great), and actually do make the Graham cracker crust per directions in the bottom of 9×13 cake pan and spread salad into it. Chill and spoon it out. It’s delicious and no waste on the Graham crackers.

Do you use fresh strawberries and just slice them up? I made the mistake of buying frozen sliced strawberries! I KNOW PRETTY STUPID HUH? I’m pretty mad at wasn’t thinking. I’ve never made this and wanted to make it for a cookout tomorrow and after i got home i relized i made a mistake!

What answer did u get? I’m gonna be making this soon and I’d like to know this too. Do u mix the filling or add the powder?

      • Chef Dave April 25, 2018 at 11:07 pm - Reply

You mix in the cheese cake powder. Some people like to sprinkle some of the graham crumbs on top of the dish for presentation.

Do you put the dry mix in or add ingredients it says on the box…theb leave the crust out

    • Chef Dave September 22, 2016 at 12:51 pm - Reply

Do not add the ingredients listed on the box. The moisture from the yogurt and cool whip will wet the cheesecake powder.

It seems dry. Should I have made the pudding first?

    • Chef Dave December 24, 2016 at 5:44 pm - Reply

No! do not add milk to the pudding, The moisture from the yogurt and cool whip will make it moist enough. Give it some time, the juice off the strawberries will help as it sits.

Fresh strawberries is out of season how can you use frozen

    • Chef Dave December 24, 2016 at 5:41 pm - Reply

Frozen strawberries will make it look mushy and very pinkish. I am not sure were you live, but try some of the bigger chain stores, Whole Food, Harris Teeter, Publix, Wegmans. Between Florida and California you should be able to get fresh strawberries year round, but they are limited.

You could thaw them in a strainer, that would take care of some of the extra liquid.

    • Chef Dave April 11, 2017 at 11:12 pm - Reply

Just mix up the powder, the moisture from the yogurt and cool whip will moisten the cheesecake powder.

This is a hit every time I make it…I have even mixed the Graham crust and spread that in a pan, then added the strawberry mix, (i omitted the bananas and add in blueberries)’s a hit that way too

Hey can tweek this any way you husband is a strawberry banana I made it as a filling and put it in a homemade prebaked crust..crunched up a few nillas to sprinkle on top covered and chilled for awhile..KIller!! I think you could use any crust..I’m going to start messing with alomnd flour!! By the way I usually make my pie dough with half butter and half shortening..all I had was coconut oil, I just chilled it like crisco and it turned out great. Anyway thanks for the recipe

I don’t do bananas. Didn’t like. I do with the sliced up strawberries, blueberries, and whole raspberries. One container of each.. So good.

I bought the no bake cheesecake filling which is made by jello. It is not powder but is like cool whip or yogurt. Was that a mistake?

  22. Daisy Parnell May 9, 2019 at 8:59 pm - Reply

Do you need to mix the cheese cake with the ingredients it calls for on the box then put it in or just put the powder in?

    • Chef Dave May 10, 2019 at 12:18 am - Reply

Yes! just stir in the cheesecake powder with the other 3 ingredients on the recipe. Enjoy!

I have lost county how many times I have made this. As a matter of fact making it this weekend. I do however have learned to add more color and use the mini colored marshmallows to make it look more festive. I have also, made this with blueberries with the bananas and strawberries. My nieces and nephews no longer ask for gifts on their birthdays they want this for their birthdays and now with graduations just around the corner will you please make this for me instead. So thanks so much for this recipe.
