Traditional Roasted Turkey
A golden brown crust, very juicy!

Ingredients
  1. Turkey, thawed or fresh 12 lbs
  2. Salt As needed
  3. Pepper As needed
  4. Butter 1/2 cup
  5. Celery, cut 3 inches 5-6 stalks
  6. Onion, cut in quarters 1 medium
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Melt butter, rub butter over turkey sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. Place turkey on a rack, in a pan with at least 2 inch sides. Place celery and onions in turkey cavity. Cook ½ hour uncovered. Place foil loosely over turkey, cook for about 2-1/2 hours or until the built-in thermometer pops up or quick-read thermometer reads
  4. 165°F. Let stand for 15-20 minutes before carving.

  6. Save space in the kitchen and cook the turkey on the grill. Using a gas grill preheat to 300°F, place turkey covered with foil. Cook about three hours.
  7. Place a couple of sheets of foil under the pan to prevent the pan from getting so smoked up
