Kraut Swiss Steaks
Recipe from the Kraut Festival in Phelps, NY
- Lean Round Steak, 3/4 inch thick 1 Lb.
- Salt and Pepper To taste
- SILVER FLOSS Sauerkraut 2 Cups
- Tomato Juice 1 Cup
- Onion Sliced 1 Medium-sized
- Place steak on broiler rack; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Broil 3 to 4 inches from heat 5 minutes on each side, or until browned. Place browned steak in skillet; add undrained kraut, tomato juice and onion slices. Cover and cook over low heat 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until tender.
