The word garnish is derived from a French word meaning
“ to adorn” or “ to finish”. In English we use the word to
mean to decorate or embellish a food item by the addition
of other items. The word is used also for the decorative
items themselves. We have all see a garnish, it may be a sprig
of parsley, slice of lemon, apple ring or even a pickle. The
presentation of a well garnished food stimulates a persons
appetite, and sets the mood of the meal. Garnishing an
individual plate of food or a large serving pan is one of the most
fun parts of cooking. So garnish way !
