Brown onion gravy

In this recipe we caramelize the onions to give it a rich and sweet onion flavor.

Ingredients
- Butter 6 Tbsp
- Flour, A.P. 4 tbsp
- Water 2 cups
- Beef Base 2 tsp
- Onions, medium fine diced 1 cup
- Black pepper 1/8 tsp
Instructions
- Melt butter, add onions, over medium heat cook the onions until the turn a rich brown color. (This will take about 4-5 minutes)
- Add flour and black pepper and stir well, cook for about 1 minute. Dissolve beef base in water. Add to the flour and butter mixture. Stir well; allow to to come to a light boil; reduce heat. and let simmer 5 - 10 minutes, before plating.
