Brown onion gravy
In this recipe we caramelize the onions to give it a rich and sweet onion flavor.
  1. Butter 6 Tbsp
  2. Flour, A.P. 4 tbsp
  3. Water 2 cups
  4. Beef Base 2 tsp
  5. Onions, medium fine diced 1 cup
  6. Black pepper 1/8 tsp
  1. Melt butter, add onions, over medium heat cook the onions until the turn a rich brown color. (This will take about 4-5 minutes)
  2. Add flour and black pepper and stir well, cook for about 1 minute. Dissolve beef base in water. Add to the flour and butter mixture. Stir well; allow to to come to a light boil; reduce heat. and let simmer 5 - 10 minutes, before plating.
