Almond Chocolate Cookies
Yields 5
Small crispy cookies!!
  1. ¾ cup whole blanched or slivered almonds
  2. ½ cup butter or margarine, softened
  3. ¾ cup sugar
  4. 1 egg
  5. 1 ¾ cup flour
  6. 6 Tbs. cocoa
  7. ½ tsp. baking powder
  8. ¼ tsp. salt
  9. ½ cup finely chopped almonds
  1. Grind almonds in electric blender, pulsing on and off. Cream butter with sugar; beat in egg. Mix almonds, flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Gradually mix into creamed mixture. Shape into rolls 1 ½-inch thick. Pat chopped almonds onto rolls to coat evenly. Chill. Slice and bake on lightly greased cookie sheets at 350 degrees, 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on wire racks.
