Meat bases, beef, chicken, ham are a concentrated form of the
desired flavor. They are added to soups, gravies and other
dishes to enhance the flavor. Many of the bases have salt as
their first ingredient. Reduce the salt in your recipe if you are
using these bases. Better quality base have meat as the first
ingredient, have more a natural flavor and will cost a little
