Butter Pecan Turtle Bars

Ingredients
  1. 2 CUPS FLOUR
  2. 1 CUP BROWN SUGAR
  3. 1/2 CUP BUTTER
  4. 1 CUP WHOLE PECAN PIECES
  5. 2/3 CUP BUTTER
  6. 1/2 CUP BROWN SUGAR
  7. 1 CUP MILK CHOCOLATE CHIPS
Instructions
  1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 DEG. MIX 2 C. FLOUR, 1 C. BR. SUGAR AND 1/2 C. BUTTER TOGETHER AND PACK THIS CRUST MIXTURE INTO THE BOTTOM OF A 9 X 13 PAN.
  2. SPRINKLE PECANS EVENLY OVER TOP. COOK 2/3 C. BUTTER AND 1/2 C. BROWN SUGAR OVER MEDIUM HEAT, STIRRING CONSTANTLY UNTIL ENTIRE SURFACE STARTS TO BOIL. BOIL 1 MIN.
  3. POUR OVER PECANS AND THE CRUST.
  4. BAKE 18 -22 MIN, OR UNTIL CARAMEL IS BUBBLY. REMOVE FROM OVEN AND SPRINKLE WITH THE CHOCOLATE CHIPS AND ALLOW TO MELT SLIGHTLY. SWIRL SOME CHIPS FOR A MARBLE EFFECT.
  5. COOL AND CUT INTO BARS.
