Chocolate Almond Slices

- Almonds, whole blanched 3/4 cup
- Butter or margarine, softened 1/2 cup
- Sugar 3/4 cup
- Egg 1 egg
- Flour 1-3/4 cup
- Cocoa 6 Tbsp.
- Baking powder 1/2 tsp.
- Salt 1/4 tsp.
- almonds, finely chopped 1/2 cup
- Grind almonds in electric blender, pulsing on and off. Cream butter with sugar; beat in egg. Mix almonds, flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Gradually mix into creamed mixture. Shape into rolls 1 ½-inch thick. Pat chopped almonds onto rolls to coat evenly. Chill. Slice and bake on lightly greased cookie sheets at 350 degrees, 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on wire racks.
