This is a very commonly used term in food service and food
manufacturing. IQF is a freezing method where each individual food
item is frozen separately. The food item is frozen (quickly) in 5-15
seconds, retaining maximum quality. The advantage of IQF products
is you can remove just one item from the package, without thawing the
complete package. IQF products are available in the grocery store also,
they are used for meats, potatoes, fruits, vegetables, etc. If you get or
see a product that is labeled IQF and all the products is frozen
together, it has been thawed and re-frozen, I recommend not buying it.
