The Well-Bred Bakery specializes in both the sweet and the savory. When you walk in the door you are blown away with the display of baked goods and the coffee aromas. As you walk to the far side of the counter you see the savory side of the store. Quiches, hand crafted sandwiches, prepared salads.
The bakery is located in a small mountain town of Weaverville, about 20 minutes north of Asheville NC. We stopped on a Saturday in early October. The bakery was buzzing, I mean buzzing!! You could tell that this place was a popular hot spot for locals.
Some of the sweets they offer are: pastries and other sweet confections, cakes (many varieties), cookies, bar cookies, assorted tarts, breakfast specialties.
Some of the savory are: gourmet croissant sandwiches, fresh garden salads, curried chicken salad, soup du jour, hot paninis.
We enjoyed to mini cream puffs and a large chocolate chip cookie.

If you get anywhere in Western North Carolina you need to come here. This place is amazing, instead of just getting a mouthful of fat and sugar, you can actually taste the almonds and the chocolate. It is amazing don’t miss out.
