Established in 1973 with the goal of serving the local community with good home cooked meals. They have been doing that and have become a large operation with that small mom and pop atmosphere. The first time I ate at this place was in 1977 on our senior trip with our high school. We had a bus load of students and when we walked in the place it was so large, had to seat at least 300 people. We were sitting in the back corner, the waitress walked by me and partially opened a curtain. I saw tables and first thought that it was a mirror but quickly realized that they had even more seating (about 150+). That impressed a young culinary student. Through the years we would stop on our trip from NC to NY, enjoying the restaurant and many gift shops. In 2007 we stopped for breakfast and shopping and was able to meet the General Manager. He gave us a tour of the kitchens and bakery and shared some history of the operation. They have seating for 750 people now and can handle 20-25 buses at one time.

About the food: they have a breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet that has enough choices for everyone. You can also order off the menu for all three meals. They have many popular Amish style dishes and PA. regional dishes. Dishes such as chicken pot pie, broasted chicken, chicken and waffles, roasted turkey and savory sliced roast beef. Leave room for dessert they make all their pies, cakes, cookies, etc. from scratch.
